 Post subject: Photo numbering.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 19, 2018 6:28 pm
Can anyone explain the photo numbering system on my phone?

When I take pics with my SLR or even the little P&S I sometimes use, the photos are numbered sequentially, but there appears to be no rhyme or reason to the numbers allocated to the pics taken with my phone.

Screenshot below of three pics taken within a few seconds of each other on my phone ...

 Post subject: Large button phone
PostPosted: Wed Feb 28, 2018 8:37 pm
I need to get a large button mobile phone for my wife.

It'll be PAYG the same as her phone is now and I plan to just use the sim card from her current phone.

Many of the large button phones that I've looked at say they don't work with 3G.

How do I find out if that will be a problem?

She is currently on Orange, (or possibly EE), I can never work that ...

Just been sat reading all the posts here and being thick I still don't understand a lot of them?

I am on plus net right now and on copper cable and I am looking to upgrade, possible to a fibre.
So questions are;

how can I foretell what speed I will get afterward, right now a speed test shows 2.8mbps down and up is 0.9mbps, so I do wish to upgrade. Being in a city ...

PostPosted: Sat Nov 18, 2017 3:52 pm
Hello - need some advice on how to wire a new extension socket, if anyone knows how?

This is the current master socket in my house - the main feed wires are white and orange, and punched down into number 2 & 5

The other wires in the master (which appear to be older specification), are red, blue, black and yellow. These are the connections which run to the current ...

 Post subject: CAT5e To Shed
PostPosted: Tue Sep 05, 2017 9:32 pm

Got a man-shed, electrics going in soon but I'm currently using a 15mtr extension to power my Xbox and other bits including Develo Powerline Adapters for Internet.

I'm thinking about running some armoured CAT5e to the shed as well to save on socket use. But I'm debating on how many runs of cable I actually need.

As of now I'm just using android tv box and Xbox wired to the Develo to my BT ...

 Post subject: Router location
PostPosted: Sun May 07, 2017 1:43 pm
Mrs A is convinced that the router shouldn't be anywhere near the TV, likewise the cordless telephone. I am sure that they are all on different wavelengths and there shouldn't be any conflicts.

I am about to rearrange wiring and sockets in the living room and having router & phone on a shelf by the TV would be a far better arrangement than at present.

Would someone with more knowledge on the subject please confirm ...

 Post subject: Broadband speed update
PostPosted: Sun Apr 16, 2017 2:00 pm
Just had our latest BT bill in and discovered we're paying £40/month for our 'unlimited' broadband connection.

Out of curiosity I Googled 'average UK download speeds' and found that Offcom research revealed that the AVERAGE download speed went up from circa 22Mb/s to 28Mb/s in 2016.

Mine comes in at TWO Mb/s :angryfire: and has done for the last EIGHT YEARS.

You can only image the Mr ...
