Post subject: Needs to get next door's phone line moved Posted: Wed May 23, 2012 8:42 pm |

We're planning to get a dormer put onto our bungalow either later this year or early next year.
One problem I've spotted is that the phone line going to next door comes from a pole beside our house and runs across the front of our roof to a mounting on next doors fascia - passing straight through the space where our front dormer will go.
There is another pole directly across the road and if ...

Can anyone help!?
Ever since the bt broadband engineer decided to disconnect our phone extension socket in the bedroom because he thought it was interfering with our BB signal (not sure why he thought this but I was out and he told my wife he would try it!) then it hasn't been working.
Trouble is I am not sure how\what he disconnected.
Basically I have an external BT junction box outside the house and I ...

There does not seem to be much interest/discussion on mobile phones.
My internet phone seems to have a design issue where it thinks its out of memory and even if it is not thyen it quickly fills up the memory with some junk that you cannot get to see.
Does anyone know of any specialist mobile phone or Nokia forums as a simple search does not give me many recent results. All seem to say ...

Post subject: Phone Swapping Posted: Sat Feb 25, 2012 5:48 pm |

Friend and I have identical phones hers being black and mine silver and she wants to swap. We are both the same network, Tesco Mobile, and are wondering if it is just a case of swapping phones but keeping sim and sd cards. Also, by doing this would we retain our own phone numbers?

Hi everyone, my parents have recently moved into a warden controlled bungalow which has a lifeline unit installed in it. They have broadband but the problem is that the lifeline now needs to be filtered. This has been hard-wired into an extension socket. My dad has spoke to the warden and the council regarding this and they are both saying its his responsibility to get it working, they said it must stay hard-wired to stop ...

Hi. I'm having trouble with my BT telephone line, and think I've just made it worse! I live in quite an old house, and the telephone line seems to come into the house via a small white matchbox sized box near the front door:

Yes, it's in quite a state I know - but it has worked up until recently.
This then goes into a BT telephone socket. From ...

Post subject: Internal phone wiring Posted: Sun Nov 20, 2011 3:06 pm |

Oldish house with oldish wiring, fault free for the 10+years I've lived here and wired up by the previous occupant.
Recently I've had static on the telephones & drops on the bb which is driving down speed. Connecting a phone to the BT master internal socket causes static to disappear, thus implying the issue is my problem and not BT's. Disconnect everything from the internal system bar one phone and the static reappears, irrespective of ...
