Post subject: Dissolved Oxygen Or Boiler Leak? - Gloworm Hideaway 80
PostPosted: Wed Sep 27, 2006 8:28 pm
Folks,

Our 1989 Gloworm Hideaway has the CH pump mounted directly above it.

When the pump starts, there is the sound of rushing air, which then "bubbles" into nearby radiators. This has been happening for around three weeks.

The noise only occours at start-up - there are no notable air sounds when the system is running. And it only happens after prolonged use of the water heating. There is no electro-mechanical valve, so, if the ...

 Post subject: Cenrtal Heating
PostPosted: Sun Aug 06, 2006 2:49 pm
I am looking for the answer to my cenrtal heating problem. During the hot weather I switch the central heating off, but leave the hot water on.
My problem is at least two of my rad's heat-up. This is a mega problem during a heat wave.
Someone told me that the diverter valve is sticking! Another answer was my check valve was not working!
My system is pumped via a motorised valve, but where do ...

I need to drain down my central heating system in order to move a radiator. There does not appear to be a draincock within my flat - Is there any way around this.

Post subject: Increasing the size of radiators
PostPosted: Thu May 25, 2006 10:36 am
In the hall way down stairs, if have a small 600x600mm radiator that i would like to replace with a ceiling height 2100x600mm radiator. Is it as simple as swapping the two over or do you have to change anything else in the system.

The radiator states the values for BTU output and Power Wattage. What are the difference and what to they mean?

 Post subject: Pressure to high
PostPosted: Sun Apr 23, 2006 10:04 am
The pressure keeps going to high on the combi boiler and spewing out water from. How do I get the pressure to go down. Everytime we run the water or put the heating on it shoots up again.

I am hopeless at DIY so need some help, sorry if it is something easy to do!
