Post subject: White deposit under flue
PostPosted: Mon May 20, 2019 10:00 am
Hi, The white deposit has appeared under my mother-in-law's flue. Some comes off when rubbing with a finger. She doesn't get out of the house much, so she doesn't know how long it has been there or how quickly it appeared, but I suspect it's recently and quite quickly. Any thoughts about what it is and how it can be dealt with appreciated. She has a Worcester Bosch combi gas boiler.

Many thanks

Tad

Post subject: Megaflow Tank Dripping Question
PostPosted: Sat May 18, 2019 10:16 pm
Hi All

Question for central heating experts! The megaflow water tank in my house started dripping from the outlet shown in the RED circle in the photo. I tightened the value underneath and the dripping stopped. My question is - what is the point of this valve? I hadn't realised before how easy it was to turn it - it was only hand tight. I've since tightened it with a spanner to stop my curious ...

Post subject: Vaillant ecotec 824 - Excessive Pressure on heating
PostPosted: Fri May 17, 2019 9:21 am
I have a Vaillant ecotec 824, 9 years old, earlier in the week we noticed some water drippping in the kitchen from the ceiling and the boiler pressure had dropped to almost zero although the F22 error code was not showing, I immediately isolated the water supply and the dripping continued. After some investigation I found that a waste pipe in the bathroom was loose, having retified that I turned the weater on again and ...

Post subject: How 2 Replace Pressure Release Valve on Ecotec Pro 28 Boiler
PostPosted: Tue May 14, 2019 6:09 am
Hi All,

I'm new to this community and I'm kindly after your assistance. I would like some step instructions on how to replace The Pressure Release Valve on Ecotec Pro 28 Boiler. Do I first drain the system etc and how I go about it.

Water is leaking rapidly via the overlflow and I have checked and expansion vessel which is fine. I've also depressurised it.

Thanks in advance.

Malyka

Post subject: Central Heating Valves Electrical Issue
PostPosted: Mon May 13, 2019 8:33 pm
Evening All,

I have something strange happening with my CH. It is a gravity fed S plan system with two 2-way valves. For some reason, when the HW is on and the room stat calls for heat, the CH valve will stay open despite the stat no longer calling for heat.

At first I thought this was a sticking valve but the problem only occurs when the HW is on. Running just the CH, the ...

PostPosted: Mon May 13, 2019 8:16 am
Hi All

I have a Ferroli 701 Optima which leaks water through its CH 3 bar safety pressure relief valve. The water pressure on gauge NEVER goes above 1.2 bar though (with CH on or off). When i do put pressure in the PRV passes and it drop to zero over 10mins.

The Pressure Gauge USED to go over 3 bar a few weeks ago but is as above now?

There are NO leaks on ...

Post subject: Vaillant aqua plus water pressure low
PostPosted: Thu May 09, 2019 8:18 pm
Hi, my ten plus year old Vaillant aqua plus boiler water pressure is low, however its not a conventional valve top open, I've purchased a
key filling valve - below, unfortunately it doesn't fit the valve due to valve being previously opened with a flat screwdriver which has misshaped/worn out the valve. I've read somewhere that I could leave one end of the loop open to slowly increase pressure, is this correct? I've uploaded a ...

Post subject: Vaillant ecoTEC plus 418- no hot water, but no error code
PostPosted: Thu May 09, 2019 5:54 pm
Hello everyone, I have a problem, no hot water.
The boiler fires up fine, but I noticed that when I select hot water the radiators warm up (rad symbol comes on) and not the hot water. The tap symbol is constantly displayed.
I’ve been away for approx 4 months. I set the boiler to come on for two hours a day. I returned this week to find no hot water but the rads are fine. ...

Post subject: Issues on HW from a new Vaillant EcoTec green IQ 843 Combi,
PostPosted: Thu May 09, 2019 2:10 am
I had a new Combi boiler (a Vaillant EcoTec exclusive green IQ 843) installed a few days ago replacing a previous system one. My flat has 2 bathrooms on two floors with 2 showers and 1 bath.

Heating works, and hot water mostly works as well but there's something that kicks in when we shower that is not good.

After a few minutes using the shower (say, 4-5) a vibration/buzzing noise starts being audible through ...
