Post subject: Wireless thermostat - Spanish boiler
PostPosted: Wed Dec 13, 2017 8:29 pm
Good evening, I'm happy to have found this board! First post here.

I'm writing from Spain where I have a fairly modern Junkers boiler.

I'd like to install a wireless thermostat to control my heating but I'm really not sure where to connect things.

The ports in my boiler are like this:

LR LS NS - LT LS NS

If somebody could point me in the right direction that would be great!

Thanks

David

Can anybody recommend a decent boiler repair plan such as British Gas Homecare?

A quick google revealed that there are loads at it now, just want something that is reliable.

I have a Baxi 100HE Plus boiler which has always been a bit flaky
We have had the lifting burner problem and a leaking diverter both of which have been replaced, the expansion vessel membrane went and filled with water and lastly the igniter needed to be replaced. On top of this, It has always had an occasional lockout glitch as well which comes and then mysteriously disappears for months but currently it is doing ...

 Post subject: Central Heating Noises
PostPosted: Mon Dec 11, 2017 3:31 pm
Hi All,

Wonder if anyone can suggest the cause of my issue.

We have an old central heating system in our house, which heats up nicely.

The problem is that if we have the room thermostat at a "normal" temperature, there is a loud clattering noise from the loft when this temp is reached.

If we put the temp as "really high", it keeps heating forever, silently.

when we turn off the heating via the ...

PostPosted: Mon Dec 11, 2017 1:14 pm
Hello,
I recently had 2 Nest 3rd Generation Thermostats installed with my Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30cdi.

Thermostat 1 - is intended to run the wetfloor UFH system, for which there is just one zone.

Thermostat 2 - is intended to run the radiators throughout the house.

I had the thermostats installed by a friend who is an electrician. Unfortunately the system isn't working and I am unsure if it is an issue with his wiring ...

PostPosted: Sun Dec 10, 2017 9:16 pm
Hi Guys

Please bear with me because I'm not an expert on most things DIY.

This evening I turned my oven on and the electric went off in the house. I flipped the switches at the fuse box and everything came back on as normal.

However I soon noticed that although my boiler was on the heating was not working. I checked the screen on the boiler and it states that the thermostat is off. ...

Post subject: IS my Boiler/heat Exchanger starting to break down?
PostPosted: Sun Dec 10, 2017 5:37 pm
I have a Worcester 42cdi combi and just run a bath as you do and found about 5 chunks of black sticky sediment in it. They came out of the hot tap. I picked them out on my finger as per photos which I apologise in advance are pretty bad but hopefully my learned friends out there can help shed some light as to what the problem is or maybe is happening. The boiler is ...

Post subject: Screen resolution on Honeywell CM921 thermostat
PostPosted: Sun Dec 10, 2017 11:39 am
Good morning all.

We have a Honeywell CM921 thermostat that was supplied by our boiler insurance company engineer. We've had it about six months.

This week the screen on the thermostat became hard to read, as though the contrast has changed. We changed the batteries for brand new ones and the display was very clear for a moment and then reverted back to being hard to read. The backlight is still bright and the thermostat ...
