 Post subject: Boiler Agreement Predicament
PostPosted: Mon Jul 16, 2018 8:16 pm
My current boiler is a 15 year old Ideal Classic FF360 and I’ve just received the Homecare Three agreement renewal letter stating that the new annual rate will go up to £638.85 - a rise of £120. Over the past 3 years, I believe that we have paid out around £1500 for this maintenance and at the new rate and the increases in them, we will be paying out more than £2000 over the next ...

Post subject: Looking for recommendations on new boiler
PostPosted: Sun Jul 08, 2018 3:18 pm
Good afternoon, everyone

I am looking to change my gas boiler as the current one is on its last legs and am looking for recommendations. My boiler-servicing company have told me that they can no longer get replacement parts for it - and it has had quite a few in the 10+ years I have had it. I live in a parkhome (posh name for a mobile home) it has 2 bedrooms, one bathroom and ...

Post subject: Hot Water Needed from Combi with No CH:House being plastered
PostPosted: Wed Jul 04, 2018 7:40 pm
Hi all,

10 years ago I decorated our previous house. I drained down the CH and removed the rad in each room and fitted the rad back on at then end of each day. After a few days I had the rooms decorated and re-filled the CH system via the filling loop and added inhibitor via the towel rail.

This time, we live in a bigger house and the plasterers will be here for 8-10 ...

I’ve flushed all the radiators and pipework and there is no flow restriction. I have also flushed the boiler and the filter to the diverter valve. So all seems good on the flow and return.

The boiler had a new circulation pump fitted in December as the old one was knackered.

Okay this is what is happening.

The central heating temperature on the boiler is set to 70C

The room hard wired room stat is ...

 Post subject: Leaking Drain Valve
PostPosted: Sat Jun 23, 2018 1:22 pm
Hi Chaps,

Typically I've discovered half-way through fitting a new laminate floor that 3 radiators are leaking slowly from the drain valve. Only slowly dripping but no good for the floor.

Would appreciate any tips you might have on how to fix? Tips for an absolute amatuer preferred!

Many thanks,

Simon

PLB I'm away tonight but on your boiler what values do you have for parameters 3, c, E, E. and h? We may be able to do a little optimising

PS lucky you don't have an ERP boiler there's another 5 relevant parameters to play with on that

You don't even want to know how many parameters ...

 Post subject: leaking washer mffi27

Hi.
I have an Ariston Microgenus mffi27 boiler. The washer on the cold water inlet appears to have gone and the connection is leaking. I've looked at the installation and service manuals, and it appears that the washer fits between a flat surface on the inlet valve and the boiler ( diagram on page 7 of the installation manual), rather than being recessed like a tap connector. Is it possible to change the washer without ...

Post subject: Replacement CH RF Programmer
PostPosted: Sat Jun 16, 2018 2:23 pm
Got a Worcester Greenstar gas combi which is controlled by a Honeywell CM921 'stat/programmer.
The Honeywell's display is barely readable which seems to be a common problem so I'm reluctant to use that make again (started fading after only 3 years, now 8 years old).
Can anyone recomend a reliable brand as the Worcester equivalent, despite being mucho expensive seems to have reliability issues?
Mick
