PostPosted: Sun Mar 17, 2019 4:37 pm
Hi all. Hope you can help.
I can not find for the life of me any info on this type of door hinge. Image below.
The frame hinge clips into the door hinge but the door part has broken.

If anyone can help me find a replacement I'll paypal you £5 for a beer/coffee.

Many thanks

PostPosted: Sun Mar 17, 2019 4:22 pm
Hi all...

I need a couple of double door sets (I think that's the right name; 2 doors in place of one, opening in the middle vertically).

Two are simple enough but small (686 total) so am struggling to find anything suitable and was hoping not to have to make them up myself as time is short on the job.

The other is not as simple...it's 838 and needs to open both ways and have ...

 Post subject: Paslode fuel cells
PostPosted: Sun Mar 10, 2019 11:07 am
I have a paslode 360i first fix which uses an inline (straight) connector fuel cells I nto the gun. I have a bunch of older fuel cells with a 90 degree connector.

Being of a frugal disposition, I thought if I whip off the old 90 degree connector and replace with a correct straight connector, I could use up my old cartridges....

So, the cartridge seems to locate correctly when pushed into the gun and ...

Post subject: filling a hole left by a cat flap
PostPosted: Sat Mar 09, 2019 2:33 pm
I want to remove a large standard cat flap from my wooden front door and replace it with a smaller chip reading unit. The problem I have is the hole is bigger than the new cat flap. Any suggestions on how to proceed? The aesthetics are not so important.

Post subject: Internal door linings dimensions
PostPosted: Sat Mar 09, 2019 8:58 am
Hi all,

Have purchased 145x33 planned redwood timber to make up 9 internal door linings.

The doors are 838mm wide.

My question is what is the standard lining kit allowance for a door opening width? Door width plus 3mm each side? So in my case 844mm?

Thanks in advance

Post subject: Buying a new upvc front door.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 06, 2019 12:51 pm
I will be installing a new upvc front door 2010mm x 980mm probably next month. I've been looking online and saw the price around the £350-£400 mark. I contacted a company this morning whom I bought a upvc window a few years ago at a competitive price and they quoted £1200!!!

I told them I was only expecting to pay around £400ish and they went into a a big sales pitch saying the cheap £400 ...

This may sound like an odd place to post this thread but I thought it was best to post it here to get the opinions of others in the same line of work. A member of staff is welcome to relocate the thread to the correct place in the forum if need be.

Post subject: How to thicken 9mm mdf cupboard doors
PostPosted: Mon Mar 04, 2019 9:49 am
Hi, some advice would be brilliant.

I'm panelling a nook for a client with 9mm butt and bead cladding made from green MDF.
They want a shelf recess turning into a cupboard with the same material.

The question is how to thicken this stuff to make it thicker and more able to take hinge screws?

I tried laminating with 5mm ply over the weekend but it has banana'd by an inch (different materials/expansion? Under floor ...

Post subject: Wardrobe Build - which Mdf
PostPosted: Fri Mar 01, 2019 8:16 am
Hi guys,

First post on here - but have been using the advice for a little while. What a great forum.

I’ve built several bespoke wardrobes before in my house out of ply. I’m about to undertake a project for a friend who wants them finished in white. My plan was to stick to plywood carcasses (seeing as I know that material and it’s strong and nice to work with) and use Mdf doors and ...

PostPosted: Thu Feb 28, 2019 12:26 am
Hello folks,
I am looking for advice on how to remove the door frame. I have never seen anything like this before and nothing I have ever seen for sale. It probably was some kind of special order... The action is on the first floor. The walls are made of plasterboard and many layers of wallpaper...
I have replaced the door frames downstairs and apart from square nails lodged with a piece of wood in ...
