PostPosted: Mon Feb 06, 2012 7:52 pm
Has anyone got experience of a PowerBase circular saw - sold by Homebase ?

Cheap 'n' cheerful, at thirty quid. Is it a waste of money, or worth having ?

Post subject: Worx 310W Mini Saw
PostPosted: Tue Oct 11, 2011 9:44 pm
I was looking for a small saw for floor boards sick of lugging round my heavy Circular saw
Didn’t want to pay big bucks (dewalt or Bosch) so went for this tiny one from Agos (web) £82 last year
Has a laser /led lamp will cut ceramics but haven’t tried that
Thought I'd wasted my money at first but it’s been very useful so far from floor boards
to cutting small inspection holes in plasterboard ...

Post subject: Anyone got experience with Skil tools?
PostPosted: Sat Jun 04, 2011 11:07 pm
I came across these Skil tools sometime ago. The seller assured me they are actually made by Bosch and they had a 2 year warranty. They were ridiculously cheap so I decided to investigate before buying them. Any idea of how reliable they are. The ones I saw are Skil cordless screwdriver and a corded hammer drill.

PostPosted: Fri Mar 11, 2011 4:34 pm
I recently bought a new drill as I was still using my old man's heavy 1960's B & D which still works well but is very noisy and unwieldy. It has two handles and you need them!
My new one is a JCB 12DDLi, which seems to be relatively unknown in the power tool world, no reviews anywhere. It hasn't got the hammer action although there is a hammer version available and also as a ...

 Post subject: B & Q Unbranded power planed £24.99
PostPosted: Tue Jan 25, 2011 3:05 pm
I had a problem with difficult neighbours and my sticking front door used to alert them to me going in or out.

The redish hardwood door was fine when fitted in the summer and the door was finished all over with varnish. It could well be the frame swelling in the winter rather than the door but the effect was the same.

So I decided to see if I could do the job quickly with ...

I need a cordless drill pretty quick and seen some over the past 4-6 months on eBay 24v cordless hammer drills with 2 batteries and 1hr charger. Are these any good?!

Post subject: ERBAURER Sliding Miter Saw - update
PostPosted: Mon Dec 13, 2010 6:33 pm
I have had this tool for over a year now and used it quite a bit. (see link). Overall, still a reasonable piece of kit for the price. Ideal for a DIYer but questionable for a pro. End of the day you get what you pay for with this one and as its 1/2 of the price of a DeWalt / BOSCH it stacks up pretty well.

Laser is pretty knackered on now, its crackling ...
