 Post subject: Bitumous material needed
PostPosted: Thu Feb 02, 2012 5:29 pm
I have no idea whether this should be posted on roofing (as they deal with bitumen) or computing or here.

Taking a stab at it here because this is about man made materials.

I'm after some thick flexible bitumous material, maybe even rubber, but bitumous material is most often used for this job.

My computer is a bit noisy and I'm looking to dampen the noises by adding weight to the side panels to reduce ...

Post subject: Does anyone know what sort of plastic this is??
PostPosted: Thu Dec 29, 2011 9:14 am

Why??

I install a lot of boilers but only 3 or 4 different ones usually. Most come with paper templates for marking the wall where the flue hole, fixings, pipework go but these are a real PITA to use 'cos they're just ...

Post subject: New to acrylic art and sculpture
PostPosted: Wed Aug 31, 2011 10:51 am
Hello,

So far, this is the only online forum I can find for anything to do with acrylic. I have recently discovered how great acrylic can be as a medium for almost anything. I love art and sculpture. I have been surfing online finding many places where you can send your blue prints or drawings for certain companies to scan them, laser cut them etc.

My real question is this: If someone wanted to create ...

I have some old stock Makrolon sheet where the protective film won't peel off. It just tears into tiny pieces.
I need advice on how to remove it cleanly please.

Its made from 5mm tinted acrylic and is approx 500mm square

I work with a lot of plastics and the cutting, drilling holes, polishing etc is no problem but I haven't done any bending yet.

I was originally thinking of using a heat gun and a radius form to bend the radii ...

Post subject: help!!! i have a hole in my new bath.... :-(
PostPosted: Tue Jun 21, 2011 4:13 pm
yes my brand new acrylic bath i had brought & fitted has a small hole inside, on the curved bit (probably the weakest point)
i was wiping down a glass shelf from my fridge which conveniently slipped out of my hand resulting in a hole the size of a nail head (approx 0.5 cm/1 inch)
from the top the cosmetic damage is not major but the impact has 'blown' a small hole on the underside ...

Post subject: mending a crack and a chip in an enamel sink
PostPosted: Fri May 13, 2011 12:13 pm
I am not sure if I am in the right forum but , if I am , can anyone suggest a product that would mend a slight chip in a sink? It is really very small and is only visible because the white porcelain shows up beneath the jet black enamel.
If I could just work in a little product into this tiny area I would not need (yet) to go to the trouble and ...
