got a 2mb BB, the XL tv package, and home phone last week
Its the dogs b*llocks being able to finally see the 1080 hd tv working properly. Really like the free music videos, and all the on demand stuff. The content is the same as sky appart from sky one, and has some extra channels as well.
the recorder does twice the hrs of sky+, and records 2 channels whilst watching another.
The broadband is rock solid on 2mb at all times.
the switch from bt to virgin with the home phone was instant and no problems.
all in all, very happy with the change............only time will tell, but one week in and everything is fine _________________ Go on, adopt a greyhound http://www.dgrescue.org.uk/ .......................................................................... |

down sides to virgin media;
annoying slight time lag from pressing the remote to something happening
doesnt have sky one or sky news
doesnt have 1471 (being rolled out apparantly )
1571 answerphone only stores the messages for 3 days
Indian call center most of the time _________________ Go on, adopt a greyhound http://www.dgrescue.org.uk/ .......................................................................... |

forgot to add........
if you record two programmes, on 2 different channels, one finishing at 8pm, one starting a 8pm, it sometimes fails to record the second programme due to a clash (the overlap of recording)
It should just start the later recording 8.01pm _________________ Go on, adopt a greyhound http://www.dgrescue.org.uk/ .......................................................................... |

I've been VM since the days of.....well, I can't even remember what they were called then it was that long ago!
The 1471 feature has been available for a long time - the one where you retrieve the callers telephone number
Don't need 1571 as I have an answer machine.
As for the 2 programmes clashing its only a problem if you try to record a THIRD programme at the same time. V+ will allow you to record 2 programmes at a time (unlike Sky +).
Its not often I need to ring their CS (rare customer who actually thinks VM are good ) but the only time I've got thru' to an Indian CS was very recently when I took delivery of a new HD TV and I managed to f00k up the HD settings on the V+ box which meant I couldn't view the screen to reset it. Quick call to VM CS (India) to get the box reset code and its was fine, then she wanted to help me set it up properly and I couldn't stop her from trying to help - I was on my way to the pub so I wasn't bothered about it working properly |
