hello everybody,
Please could someone guide me about wiring a seperate hob and oven. I have a cooker outlet in my kitchen which is wired up to a cooker switch at 30amps at my consumer unit (MBC).

I was thinking that the hob could be connected directly with 6mm2 wiring as it is 6.5Kw. My problem is my oven is only 15-20amps max.

Could I add a dual cooker outlet running one cable to the hob and the other through a 20amp MCB 1 way consumer unit to my oven.

I am not sure -if say the cooker blew would it damage my hob.

Normally I am ok with electrics but I want to be careful for safety reasons and I don't want to nak my expensive purchases.

Thanks in advance - Brian :?

Is it a single oven rated at only 13 amp? if so you could just wire a socket from the existing cooker outlet plate and plug it in. No need to wire an extra circuit. Allthough it will do it no harm

Hi Markysparky
I think the oven is hard wiring only - it did not come with a wire or plug. The oven has a fuse guide of 15A min -20A max. The plate rate states 3.0kW.

I ain't sure what to do next. :help:
