Try this quiz on your knowledge of trees in Britain.

http://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/en/take ... -name-tree

Report your mark out of 10. I got 9/10

Me too, well I'm close to the New Forest anyway, but yours is a bit of a monoculture isn't it?

I got 9/10 , (and I still don't think the trunk looks pale enough to be an Ash tree). :B

you'd think  .... apart from the massive reliance on pine, there are significant areas of deciduous woodlands. One side of our location is pine-encrusted, the other is a random selection of all sorts of stuff which I've been told are being left to 'grow wild'....

I'm in the middle of thinning the trees to establish an orchard.

I have 4 apple trees in the garden, but due to mis-labelling I may not have the best selection for pollination. :cb
