R.I.P.

He was my Boss on the Stena Seaspread, damn good engineer.

His words motto was 'We can fix it'

Then he'd ask when will it be ready Chief.

Never a 'can you fix it'.
That was not option, it was 'ALWAYS FIXED' in some manner or fashion.
Rumour was that the Chippy welders were borrowing stainless steel knives from the galley as filler on some welds.

John

Sorry to hear about your EX boss.

Sounds like he could fix anything :thumbright:

I'm afraid I cannot read the obituary as the Times newspaper charges people, so most people can only read the homepage of the website.

Edit:

I have edited your original link to point to the Telegraph (thanks John)

Very interesting summary of his life, especially during the Falklands war.
Thanks for bringing that to our attention.

I will remember that one next time i forget the rods on a site job....usually have a teaspoon or two.

I can see plenty of flaws in the idea mind.
Besides the technical reasons, i wouldn't have a spoon to stir the tea.
