Hello handyguys! My faucet's handle started leaking a few days ago and i affraid it will leak more. I have video'ed the situation for you to make it easier:

I am a beginner in home DIY but in my army service i was APC mechanic working with GMC's diesel motors so i have a little experience. Although it is said that this faucet is special and requires experienced person to fix. Personally i do not know what so special about it. A common faucet to me which probably has rubber misplaced under the handle which is causing leakage.

What do you think guys? Should i attempt?

Can't see the full tap, but it is probably just an O ring that needs replacing.

Have a look at this and it should give you some idea

Thanks Admin. What i really hate about this tap is that you cannot control the exact flow of water you want when lifting/lowering by "hitting" the tap's handle. It is either medium or high, however if you grab the handle with all your soapy hand and gently pull, then you might get close.

Boris

UHM is right, That'll be an O ring, your main problem will be sourcing the right size of ring..

Do you quite often find you have blown an o ring?

You need to use more lubrication and work objects in slowly. It can be terribly inconvineient if you just ram things in and tear it!

I had a quick look on the internet and found that hot towels can often help to soften things up - might be worth a try! Oh, it also suggests a bucket when working with o-rings - last thing you want is a mess all over the palce.

Cheers,

BG

Don't grip too tight or use a serrated tool, you'll take the chrome off!!!!!

Actually the handle moves normally and i do not need to force it. Don't get what to soften with hot towel. The "O" ring so it settles on its place? :dunno:
