Hi
I have an aluminium bifold door that's not opening properly. I tracked the issue down to the bottom latch not operating when the handle is turned. So I began removing the mechanism by removing the screws, but then realised I should get the replacement first, otherwise I wouldn't be able to lock the door while I sourced a new one... but when I went to put the screws back in again they weren't connecting to anything. I then realised they thread into the plates shown in the first pic, which as I released them had fallen into the box section of the door, ::b

Am I right in thinking that I need to remove the glass to be able to hold the plates in place while I reconnect the screws?., and is the only way to remove and replace a multipoint mechanism on these doors?
