Hi, I'm new here, but could someone recommend a good 'non poison' and 'non sonic' method of getting rid of an annoying mouse that seems to have made his home in the floorboards. posting.php?mode=post&f=53#Grish

You never get just one mouse, there will be a whole family of them running around.
Rentokill is the best method unless you fancy traps.

Are you wanting a humane trap?
Just get some poisen down and be done with it - They are vermin and need killing.
They will eat your pipes, insulation, electrical wiring and unlike you, don't really care what you think!!!!
Imagine the cost of having all your floors up and having to get someone in to re-wire when things start going wrong. On a water meter? Imagine them chewing you supply pipe, causing damp under the house and racking up a huge water bill.

See if you can find their run and put some traps down with some peanut butter or nutella as bait and check them every day - if you don't do that you might end up with a rat problem with them eating the dead mice.
I have to agree with BG with his points about the humane traps also you get some eco warrier trapping all the rodents and releasing them somewhere for them to cause a problem for some other poor sod

The early bird catches the worm but it's the second mouse that gets the cheese!

Thank you all for your replies. I have set a trap for the little b?????s and got four in four nights. The last two nights have been clear. I will leave the trap down for another week. Any further advice is welcome. Grish

Peanut butter is great for bait. Cheese isn't really all that good. Forget about Tom & Jerry lol

A mouse has two primary objectives in life; food and reproduction. Since it needs the first to do the second then No. 1 priority is to deny it a food source. You have the message about the traps but to ensure they don't survive then starve them by a very strict regime of zero food and whatever you need to do to achieve that. The worst that can happen is that they'll go to your neighbour next door.Tom.

we live in and old farm house and the farmer grows corn so we had havest mise under the bath for about a year, you will never have just 1,we used humane traps but they escaped, quite crafty are mice,so turned to poisen under the bath and eventually between poison and our fat lazy cat not had any for over 6 months but you shud try and find out where they are comming in and fill the hole put poison or trap down outside too. now we have mole invasion....
Hope you sort the pesky critters out!
Steve
