Hi all,

our communal hallway has three lights and two switches - currently the columbus pneumatic timer type. I wanted to update the switches (as one has broken again) so bought two of these - http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/DNTLSW10ILM.html - thinking it would be a simple swap.

However, re-reading the installation notes, it seems these switches have a 'minimum load' of 40W that will not be made by my two energy saving bulbs. The switches came with 'CAPLOAD' capacitors (http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/DNCAPLOAD.html) which I think need to be wired into two of the ceiling roses across the lights. Is that correct?

I've been searching around and couldn't find much info on this but apologies if I haven't looked in the right place!

Cheers,

Joel

Thanks Dave, yes I saw that it was just the practicalities of where exactly the capload should go. Is in the ceiling roses the right place?

Yes across the live and neutral connections at your low energy light fitting this will then replicate a higher load and stop the time lag switch from playing silly buggers.
