Sorry if this is a dumb question but I bought a 5A Mini-Trip MCB Type B unit this morning from Wickes to fit into my existing fuse-box for the downstairs lighting circuit. Problem is, it doesn't fit as the two "pins" are too wide apart for the socket.

I've obviously bought the wrong type so what should I be looking for ?

Any help appreciated !

Errrrrr ...... nope !

That must be the dumb mistake I've made. How easy is it to change the "housing" and is that the "base unit" referred to on the link you provided ?

If its a wylex board then simply turn the main switch off, remove the fuse and if you look at the carrier in the fuse box itself there is a small slotted screw, undo this and the carrier bit comes out, then replace this with the new one supplied with the mini trip , plug in new mini trip and re energise the fuse box.
