While scouring the net for info on building a shed base I've come across a few sites recommending the application of a membrane.

I'm just about to lay the sub base and figured a membrane might be a good idea? The top of the concrete base will be level with soil and I would like dampness in the shed (once it has been built) to be kept to minimum.

Should I incorporate a membrane?

Thanks :-)

Yes, I did and it has works a treat, yet only thick black poly sheet, as your level with surrounding soil you might want to extend it up the sides by 100mm or more.

Might I ask what gauge of membrane you used and which which manufacturer?

I was planning on covering all the exposed concrete up the sides, preventing any moisture getting through.
