You need an G3 qualification to work on an unvented cylinder.

being a spark and gas fitter if you dont wire it correctly and it has been piped incorrectly it basically can turn in to a giant bomb, you have to go on a course to know how to wire it in its not rocket science but if its installed incorrectly you can be the best spark in the world wire it perfecly but if something goes wrong the HSE come down on you like a tonne of bricks, it might be a pain but get the guy with the certificate to sort it you can have no comeback then
