What type of mattress is in your guest bed? If not the same, will your current mattress see any improvement?

If possible, swap the beds temporarily, trying your current mattress on the guest bed frame for a few weeks, if it improves things then you know it is worth the effort, I suspect it will not though. Having tried literally hundreds of mattress and bed combinations in the past, I could never tell the difference between platform and sprung bases when lying down, could only really tell when getting in and out of the bed, and then I found them irritating
Sprung Divan bases were always a con in my opinion, I always recommended to my customers that they buy a simple platform divan since they were cheaper to buy or replace and you got more storage space. I didn't push it too hard though, a sprung base would usually net me a few extra quid commission

Thank you for your honesty and for making me giggle

I did think of doing what you suggest. On the guest bed there is a Dunlopillow mattress and a foam mattress topper. It is soooo comfortable but only since it was placed on the New sprung slat bed.
