hey folks

i got a propane bottle(red)

i was about to use a metal bar and hammer to undo the valve at the top but ther is still about 12 - 14 inches of gas in it. i dont have the connector to get rid of the gas left and when i open the valve tap it blow out a bit of gas and stops the hissing sound. does this mean the pressure is down enough to undo valve? really dont want the valve to fly off once its loose!

anyone done this without serious injury?

At best you'll kill yourself and take half your family with you, at worst you'll be seriously mutilated and no family.

The bottles are the property of the gas supplier.

Would you ask if it was an un-exploded bomb, because it's just as deadly. ::b

Just so you know what can happen it it goes wrong,Many years ago I witnessed a bottle that dropped off the back of a truck,it snapped the valve of and shot up the high street like a torpedo demolishing three cars and shop window ,fortunatly there wasnt anyone hurt,

I wouldnt.

An empty cylinder and vented cylinder is one thing, a partially full one is just foolish

ok so the cylinder with gas still in it was left alone... but got another one which was "empty"
so with iron bar and lump hammer i went at it and.... no deaths of torpedo!

opening for ash pan and opening for door cut out... gona pick up the steel tamara for to weld on grate and re-enforce the door ope and with a bit of luck this will keep me warm in my newly bought mobile home

I couldn't hear a word of that video.

Just make sure that if you do attempt to follow instructions from youtube videos that you put your health and safety first and that of others around you!

You can get stoves cheap on ebay BTW

What sort of 'mobile home' is it, a camper type van, a semi permanent caravan or a park home?

How do you intend making a double skin flue for it and how do you intend exiting it from the 'mobile home'?

I am curious for a three reasons, 1, I live in a Park Home, 2, We had a multi fuel stove for about 10 years in our last house. 3, I have a family member who designs and retails multi-fuel stoves and all the spare parts including glass and fire bricks and flue pipes, so I have an idea of what works and what doesn't. I won't link to his company but would only recommend you use a proper stove and flue.

not sure if you would call it semi permanent or park home... its a 35ft X 10ft two bedroom and is in a field behind my brothers gaf. it has a chimney so the wood stove is going to go underneath this... the flue will be exposed so as to maximise the the heat from the stove... plan on a piece of second skin insulated flu were the flue passes through the ceiling/roof.

how do you heat your mobile?
