I have checked the forum and seen lots of 'loose toilet' seat posts, but not quite like mine. This is a soft close toilet seat, a single bowl unit with no access to tighten any toilet seat components from below the bowl. There are two buttons I can press on the hinge and lift off the toilet eat when it is at 90 degrees to the bowl (found from previous post, thanks). I don't see how I can tighten the fitting that I now see though. Picture below shows the fitting. Doesn't appear to be a way to lift off the plate or turn the 'spike' fittings. I see a model number of 1002/00530330 on the toilet seat but can't find any results on Google search. Advice very much welcomed.

Thanks

Chris

Looks like a naff Bathstore seat.

Prise up the cover plate. Underneath this is a long black plastic plate and this has a screw at either end for tightening it.

Wow, RoyalOakCarpentry again, and spot on, thanks. Job done, at least the kids won't slip off the loo now, one less potential injury.....

Thanks

Chris

You will probably have to tighten it up every now and then. I have had them where I needed to tighten them virtually every other day, whilst on the job.

On the job as in bathroom fitting, not the other type, or the other type
