Hi, to anyone that can help me, i have recently bought a new light for my bedroom in my new flat, with the unwanted help of my brother in law, he has disconnected all wires from the ceiling rose and has no idea which wires he took from where, so now i have no idea which wires connect to where in the new light fitting. I have 3 live (red) wired, 2 earths (yellow and green) and 2 neutrals (black).
Can anyone help?

Thanks, Alan.

Since you would not (I assume) think that it was OK to use the point of a knife to undo screws because you couldn't be bothered to invest in screwdrivers, or use a lump of stone on nails because you thought a hammer was an unnecessary tool, I'm sure you would have bought a multimeter before deciding to carry out electrical work, so with the power off use it on a continuity or low resistance setting to find the cores connected to the switch.
