The prime minister said police had admitted to him that they got their riot tactics wrong

Mr Cameron told MPs that it had become clear that there had been problems in the initial police response to the disorder.
"There were simply far too few police deployed on to our streets" Wouldn't have anything to do with government cuts in police budgets?

"The truth is that the police have been facing a new and unique challenge with different people doing the looting - in different places all at the same time." Surprise surprise, it wasn't MPs this time looting the expenses in the House of Commoners

"he announced a raft of measures to help homeowners and businesses." Be scared, be very scared, about where he intends getting the money for this 'raft of measures' because he will not be paying for it out of his £millions.

Cuts? What cuts? Last months Government spending was UP on the previous years and there have been NO 'real' cuts ANYWHERE. Anyone talking about 'cuts' being a cause of whatever is lying through their teeth.

What IS happening is that the Government have talked-up the intention of cuts to keep the markets and commentators happy whilst carrying on spending. I get the impression that they know this is going to happen, that they cannot prevent it so they're carrying on regardless as the end result will be the same. Meantime they get all the kudos for running an orderly ship.......

As I keep saying, the parasite classes (politicians and their cohorts) are looking after their own - sod the rest of us.
