I see Homebase are selling some 170mm insulation for £5 per roll.

On my building regs sheet, it says:

Roof to be insulated with two layers of 150mm fibreglass insulation quilt. One layer laid between ceiling joist and one layer over in opposite direction. Maintain roof ventilation with 25mm continous air to eaves and vent tiles to apex as shown.

Can i use this as its a mineral wool made from recycled glass not fibreglass?

And would it be ok as its actually thicker than i require?

I don't actually need this yet, but just seemed a good price but if its no good i can wait to see whats on offer closer to the time.

I'd leave it and go to wickes instead.
Thats where I got mine and they usually have bogof offers on most rolls.

I am going to leave it as i have some 100mm rolls filling up the garage.

Hopefully there will be another £5 roll offer at a later date. The wickes bogof one isn't such a good deal.

and i would probably go with knauf.

I thought it was a damn good deal :)
Cost me under £90 to insulate my 3 bedroom house to 270mm (and 370mm in half the loft as I had so much left over)

Most other places would have been more expensive.

Its good, but the other deals a fiver. Half price of the wickes ones would be about £14.
