Having just joined, on browsing this forum i find several threads i could make useful comments to. But they are locked. In fact, vast numbers of threads are locked.

What the deal? Whats the point of locking the threads? How can you run a forum where its impossible to comment because threads are only open for literally hours?

Mind boggling..............

Most threads are locked after 4/5 weeks of no activity. This is only to prevent new and enthusiastic members digging up old and resolved posts, and to stop spammers adding links.

If you have a valid reason for unlocking a thread, click on the "Alert moderator" icon bottom right of any post in red, with an exclamation mark.

As Moderator 2 has explained to you why all threads with more than four weeks without any activity are locked, perhaps it is not quite as mind boggling even to a yokel as it may have appeared to be.

As for posting a thread about :Sex, Curry and Dumping on a DIY Handyman open/family forum, I find that your taste, or more realistically, lack of taste is pushing you to the very limits of a Red Card whereby you would not be too bothered about which threads are locked and which are not, as you may soon not be in a position to be able to reply to any.

Consider what you are posting before causing anymore upset.
