hi the other day 5 sockets went off out the blue i have left all my testing equipment in work .but i have a socket tester .i found one of the sockets was still getting power leading me to believe its the first in the loop but it says live earth reversed and i promise it isnt but the socket is not working and its stopping power goining to the next socket .so i chock blocked it and the power still is not getting to any of the other sockets .im reluctant to pull my tiles off shud i wait till i get my testers or can you think of anything

Have you disconnected any appliances that were plugged in to the socket ring?
Have you visually checked the wiring at each socket on the ring?

I will guess you have lost the neutral and as a result the neutral is floating above the voltage which makes the tester your using flag it as incorrect.

Clearly you need to repair the neutral and since neon testers will not help with that looks as if you must borrow a tester to find the fault.

i have one but as i say its in work ,so the nuteral has fried somewere behind my tiles great .that will give me something to do haha
