| Used 6mm plywood screwed at 6" centres over uneven floorboards - resulting in a noticable `scallaped` edge after underlay and carpet have been fitted. If I uplifted the lot and overlayed floorbards with 12mm chipboard, would this even thing out? |

The best way is to pull the whole lot up and get the joists level. If they are uneven then glue on timber strips and plane these level. Relay the boards or replace entirely with a 19mm ply or T& F chipboard flooring.
