So your guy folded the wall flashing back, then fitted the new lead which is lapped over conservatory, then redressed the flashing.
In hindsight he should have ripped out all the old lead and fitted a new flashing, I can't see why it was put in so high, so best option if its render and your last guy has turned that new lead up enough is rip out and weigh the old lead in ( it was never meant to be like that ) chase in a new flashing, in two sections fit bell cast bead over then render.
Make sure there's a lead saddle fitted over the apex as that's not sealed.
Its a job to tell if its render or irregular stonework, stone would need to be chased in and sealed.
The original fitter should have been pig mauled.

Thanks again for all the responses, really useful.

I've just had a FMB builder come and advised that no cavity tray is installed and that's what is causing the leaking.

Apparently he mentioned that there was no point messing with the existing lead work as it wont make a difference.

Sound about right? I'll probably get another FMB builder to have his view / probably confirm!
