Bugger I never thought of having a pump. The waste was too high so opted for a shower instead of a wet room.

I would be worried that a pump breaks down the water runs out the door

you could have still had a wet room with a raised shower area. They haven't got to be all on the same level to be a wet room.

Last one we did the client had concrete floors as she was in penthouse. So the showering area was raised by 4 inches and pump used to get water away.

These pumps kick in when they detect water being fed to the shower, so even if it does break down, you know about it instantly and therefore wouldn't get flooded out. You don't need a fall from the waste to the pump as they pump water uphill, so to speak.

I see, do you have a lip of sorts at the door or is it a straight run through.

I like the idea of a partial wet room. Seen a bathroom where the shower soaked everywhere and one just walks the wet out onto the hall.

Saw another one with glass block walls, now that looked terrific :thumbright:

In hindsight, I would have done my bathroom different but hey ho

Morning guys

This is my current layout and proposed set up

With the right sized products, does it seem reasonable?

the only issue I feel there is, is the relocation of the loo. The house is mid terrace AND has been extended out to the back. The bathroom does not exit to outside the house at all.

So the waste pipe runds underneath the loo.. downstairs through the utility room in to the ground drainage (septic tank, not mains drainage)

Hi Diyjohnny

They still call them a wet room because it looks as if there is no shower tray. Unless you have a tardis for the bathroom then you should have some sort of screened area for the shower. If you don't screen the shower area then of course you have the problems of soaking the missus while you shower and she takes a dump etc. No need to have a lip on the door to the wetroom. You control water drainage by forming falls into the finished floor. If you end up with water pooling at the door then someone has given wrong advice along the line.

Hello Dave

yes it seems perfectly viable off of the plans. There aren't many times when something is impossible to do. There is normally a way to work around obstacles and potential problems.

Might be worth putting a thread for this in the building forum too.

I get great satisfaction out of everything except insurance work. Well most insurance work unless it is total refurb lol.

I love the work I do. Wish I got more bathrooms in and kitchens come to think of it.

Looks just how you should feel when you get out of the bath, nice and clean. Good inspiration.
