Hello - new here, so be gentle!

I have a Terratek rotary multi-tool (like a Dremel) and recently bought a set of saw-blades for it off Ebay....

The blades seem fine but they only come with one mandrel, so I'd like to get a few more mandrels as I had one ages ago that bent and I couldn't find a replacement, so I just bought a new set of blades that came with one!

The problem is, I still can't find this size of mandrel anywhere....

The hole in the centre of the blades is 6.35mm in diameter, and so the usual mandrels I can find are too small.

The widest part of the one that came with the blades is about 11mm, but I don't seem to be able to find spares anywhere.

Please see attached pic to see what I mean!

Can anyone tell me what I should be searching for and where I could get a few spare mandrels of this size please?

Thanks

M :?

6.35mm is 1/4" (some times listed as 6mm) - search for 1/8" shank 1/4" mandrel

edit. it may be cheaper just to get another set.........

eg. https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/818/Toolzone ... 4NMY9Y3SGK

Hi Flash,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I could just get another set of blades, but I've already got 2 now and I don't want yet another set just to get another mandrel every time it gets a bit bent!

I'll have a look for a pack of spare 1/4" mandrels then...

Many thanks

You may find it's cheaper to get the ones with blades from the Far East
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dremel-Cutoff ... SskJJCiPtA
They have a 6.35 bore, and a 3.175 shank going by the blurb.
With one blade is £1.40

That's cheaper than the mandrels on there own, saying that I have made my own mandrels with a bit of scrap steel bar before now - 5 mins on the lathe and tap by hand

First thing I thought was I'd turn one, not that my lathe is great, but it'll do that. I keep going to sort it out properly, but there always seems to be something else. . .
Thing is though, at that price with a blade I probably wouldn't bother.
I wanted a couple of spring bars for a watch I'd cleaned the other day. I think the cheapest I could get in this country were around a quid for the two.
I could get 360 various sizes, including 20 of the size I wanted for £1.90 from Hong Kong. Took about ten days to come.
