Just checked the bt hub software, says Im connected at 2848kbps down and 448kbps up. NOT

I presume thats what the hub is connected at, I suspect the laptop is having tantrums, will take it back monday. will keep you posted

Oh, thankyou yourweb for suggesting I delete cookies.

Have you got the BT Total BB with the Open Zone voucher option?

If so, and there is a starbucks or whatever near you, you could try taking your laptop there and doing a similar test - that will help determine if it is the laptop communicting generally on wireless or something about the Laptop and HomeHub setup combination.

Not sure how PC literate you are Jason, so if I am stating basics, don't take it personally Smile

Remember when the info comes back about how fast you are connecting, it is like a point to point info, not end to end (not sure if that makes sense?)
So when the Wi-Fi says 54Mb, that is the connection from Laptop to HH - you could have no internet and still get that speed.
Likewise, when you read the HH connection speed and it tells you 2848 Down and 448 Up, that is the HH to ISP speed.

To get a reasonable end to end speed info, try this:
Click Start on task bar, then Run
In the Run box, type "CMD" (without quotes) and hit return
Then in the 'Dos Box' type "tracert www.bbc.co.uk" (again without quotes) and hit return
This will give you a list of numbers in mSecs and a bunch of IP addresses and/or names of the path taken to get from your system to www.bbc.co.uk (you can chose any web address - I used the BBC as it is always working and reliable)
You can then see from this if you have any bottle necks - the very first entry will be the speed of your laptop to the HomeHub.
Try this test with dekstop and laptop and you *SHOULD* get near identical results.

FWIW, doing the TRACERT test, my laptop at 54Mb connection to Home Hub is 13ms, 99ms, 99ms
Redo, it is 5, 100, 99
Redo, it is 11, 99, 99

I would expect you should get similar as your setup seems similar
