anyone have issues with the quality of these? i normally use the 4 x 3 base boards

well i say 4 x 3 for some reason there 3ft by 1200mm. plaster boards are normally 1200mm x 900mm or 4ft by 3 ft

there also always warped when they come from the builders merchants.

they dont cut well. the backing peels off too easily

when they are screwed to stud work the corners break as soon as the screw head starts to go flush with the board surface.

when plaster is applied to them the paper can bubble through the plaster (the boards are on the correct way) or the open edges crumble to mush)

anyone else have these issues?

Hi Fin, look what I posted on the Plasterer's forum only last week...

I hadn't ever given it any thought but has anyone else noticed the difference between British Gypsum boards and Lafarge GTEC ??

Been dabbing an extension out the last couple of days and have lost count the amount of times the Lafarge boards have crumbled like chalk when trying to cut a clean edge - They're bloomin' useless , edges all mishapen when I have managed to cut a reasonably straight edge , me Surform's been working overtime

I thought they might be damp but a new delivery arrived today and exactly the same problem - Bring me BG boards anyday !!!

when i was in the builders mercahnt the other day i was havin a cuppa wif the yard lads. they said they get loads of complaints about them. they come from the factory without a pallet there just on kickers (small bits of pallets basically) so when the forklift picks them up they get all bent out of shape.

never had an issue with british gypsum boards. much better than this shite
