Hi
Can anyone out there help me, I'm after a replacement handwheel for my Kity 636 Planer Thicknesser, it's the one which adjusts the height of the lower table for thicknessing.
I'm also after a replacement drivebelt, it's the one which drives the feed roller and not the one for the cutter block.
The belt size is 710mm x 6mm, I've sent an e-mail to Kity uk and received a reply from Toolmartuk, I guess they must be the uk agents, below is part of their e-mail reply to me.
Dear Clive,
We regards to your recent enquiry, prices are as follows:
* Belt 710 x 6 £29.99
* VAT & carriage not included
We supply Kity machines, spares, belts, planer blades, saw blades spindle tooling etc. We specialise in the older machines & many of the parts are still available. If you require spare parts you will need to give the part number from your manual, if we do not hold the stock in the UK then we can then put through an enquiry for availability with Kity France.
Archive copies of Kity Manuals are available, they consist of two parts the Operational section & full spare part breakdown section. The manuals for individual machines cost £25.00 & combination machines from £30.00 to £35.00
I don't particularly want to fork out for a manual just to get the part number for the wheel.
I suppose I'm thinking the above company could have e-mailed Kity or looked in a manual themselves for the number.
Question does anyone know the part number for the handwheel on this machine and where I could purchase one, together with a drivebelt.
If the drivebelt is over £29.99, I'm having nightmares about the possible price for the handwheel.
Many thanks

Dear Clive,
Hi clive.
i have a Kity 636 planer. The part number for the timber feed belt is (2301) if you want i can scan the manual and send you a pic. regarding the handwheel that lowers the table i don't have the part number but you could fit a common socket , weld it to a round plate and there's no need to buy an expensive handwheel. if you do not understand me clearly contact me and i will draw you a diagram.

Hi victor, many thanks for the part number for the feed drive belt.
The table rise and fall handwheel sits on top of a splined steel shaft, having said that yes I would very much appreciate a diagram of how it could be modified to save buying a new handwheel.
Thanks once again

Hi clive,
Attached find photo of Kity Planer 636 showing handwheel. On the Splined shaft fit a socket . a cheap box will surely have one that fits. Cut a 3 inch diameter steel disk ( even a straight flat bar will do) and weld the socket to the centre of the disc or flat bar. at the edge of the disc or flat bar drill a quater inch hole and fix a 1 1/2 inch bolt so that you can turn the disc or flatbar,

Hi Victor
Many thanks for the drawings, looks a simple enough modification that will do fine for me, I'm off to find a socket to fit the splined shaft.
Once again many thanks for your help.
