 Post subject: kitchen double socket

hi to everybody on the forum, i have a double socket in the kitchen that flashes ,everytime you put the kettle or fryer, dryer etc and turn the switch on or off it flashes ,why is this ,can anybody help , i have undone the socket to make sure the wires are ok and they are thanks

assuming you mean a flash throught the plastic casing when you switch off high drawing items this is normal
to avoid this use the switches on the appliance as they are better designed for turning off high loads over a long time

you will always get an arc untill the gap is greater than the current can jump :wink:
