i would try plugging in a usb keyboard for now... then she could still use it.. however its not a fix for the built in keyboard i know...

theres also this tip which could also help out if needed...
windows XP and XP Pro have a nice little feature to help
its an "On screen Keyboard" controlled with the mouse.

even if you have no troubles atm, I recomend you type "osk" (without "") in the "Run" box so if your keyboard ever screws up you can still select it from the drop down and do basic things like chat in msn ect... until you get a new keyboard.

hope it helps ;)

ps are you sure no keys are jammed down... could cause this problem i guess... try pressing each key individually one at a time and see if any feel different.

never heard of a fault where all keys but the vowels stop working scratch - sounds sort of like it might be a silly virus.
Did you try an external keyboard and did that work normally?

Glad it helped, but since when were "S and K" vowels lol Laughing
would deffo use Hijackthis to give it the once over,
and deffo run a virus scan.
as its certainly looking like the others say

Teabag - interesting observation Laughing however, I have had problems with keys being knackered and having to enter the characters which are shagged - handy way to get round that is to do copy and paste for the specific characters needed - slow, but doable Wink

One thought on this problem .... not sure what the keystrokes are, but I have thought of a potential circumstance where you could maybe have a stuck key on a keyboard that results in only vowels working Shocked

If you want to type accented letters, like á,é,í,ó,ú etc, you need to hit a certain key and the letter together (I just used the ALT GR key) - now those accents only appear on vowels, so the other letters will not do anything - so possibly the ALT GR key was stuck if it is a technical problem scratch
