Hi guys, just dumping 2 questions in one post

Just for copper
I remember lot of posts about this a while ago. Just wondering how has this stood up over time. I wouldn't mind installing a magnaclean and the problem is that they require welding to the return pipe. Now, I am wondering if i could 'weld' this with "Just for copper". The advantage is that its visible so if it goes wrong you would see it.

Has anybody ever used it?

Power Flushing
I have seen the UHM guide to DIY powerflushing but am wondering if hiring a kit and doing a full job is something I could do? Like all these things its when it goes wrong, your in the ...

If you fit a magnaclean or spiro equivalent you can just do a normal flush with a hose pipe.

Provided the system isn't blocked.

Never tried the cold solder, but wouldn't trust it personally.

Thats because you can solder

Do you mean take the rads off and wash them out in the garden? some of my rads are luke warm at the bottom. I wouldn't have thought that a hose pipe wouldn't be good enough to dislodge the sludge especially its its been there for years

Just for copper is amazing stuff and it has pulled me out of the crap a few times

I have even used it at work.

Because I work in an environment where there is the potential for explosive accidents trying to use a blow torch and get hot work permits etc. is a real pain in the arse, so the last time we installed some copper pipe we used just for copper. The pipe is now carrying reverse osmosis water and has been fine so far

Once just for copper is cured (after a few seconds), JUST-FOR-COPPER™ is a durable polymer with outstanding chemical and environmental resistance. It can also withstand about 200psi and so I don't think a powerflush will adversely effect it at all.

If you want to be 100% certain though you can ask them

For me its the difference between getting someone in and doing it myself. As I say, its in a highly visible place

Might give your DIY power flush a go and see how I get on, do you reckon it would get all the sh#t out. I doubt its ever been done

The Adey will take it out eventually.

A hose pipe down the garden will work wonders.

I tried 'Just for Copper', then took all the joints apart and soldered with end feed fittings.

Just couldn't get on with the stuff!

I thought just for copper was a doddle to use.

Might be the guinea pig.

If I get someone in to do a power flush I will get him to put the adey on. Not easy cleaning rads on the 3 storey flat in london  But a power flush here is very pricey

Thats sh#t goes everywhere once you take the rad off

Could flush it down the toilet I suppose

No less environmentally friendly than chucking it off the balcony I guess...

Didn't you get the system flushed when the new boiler was fitted?

Got it installed about 18 months ago (place I live in). Had no clue about boilers or plumbing, he was in and out in 3 hours so doubt it very much. That is a vaillant too,

The posts I am making in the forums are for my new place which is being done up from scratch (hence all the questions). He took 1.5 days , did a powerflush etc. Much better job. The place i live in now needs some work to it but its liveable
