We went to see this remake of Steven King's horror story. I recall reading the book in the 80's and there was an excellent TV mini series made starring an unlikely Richard Thomas (John Boy Walton) as the lead hero. This new version has all the special effects ramped up and the guy who plays Pennywise the clown has a distinct malevolence about him. It was very well done and I enjoyed it and I can understand why the box office receipts have been so good given that there is so much dross showing.

We went to an afternoon showing and there were only a handful of people with us watching. About half way through the film it suddenly stopped and all was black. I said to Mrs D (rather louder than I thought) 'Look out Pennywise is coming' a woman in front heard and screamed, fortunately everyone laughed. I felt obliged then to notify the staff that the film had stopped and the lights came up whilst they fixed it. All quite strange really.

All in all it was an entertaining afternoon and it did not cost me anything as I get six cinema tickets from my bank every year. Saves me £60 which makes up a bit for the shite interest :thumbright:

Yeah - should have been 'It', not 'IT'

But, as it turns out, the thread was more interesting fro NOT being Information Technology related!

Cheers DWD :thumbright:
