Plumber rates are fairly expensive these days and for small fixes around the house and with youtube being so prevalent on the internet with DIY fixes and such, I feel that it might be easier to just learn it myself and save the hassle of calling out a plumbing company for a quick 5 minute job.

Definitely welcome to any other ideas and thoughts people had on this matter but It was just something I had to get out of my head and put out front.

Depends what needs doing really, if it's just a small blockage then clear it yourself but if you it's a drain repair or a more stubborn blockage you might need it to be mechanically cleared, in which case it would definitely be cheaper to get someone to do it for you rather than spending thousands on the equipment. If plumbers are a little on the expensive side why don't you just call a drain specialist who only deals with drains as a pose to a plumber who you're paying for his time? removed. Mod 2.
