It makes me laugh that people and even products (MP3 players) use white ear plugs to mimick the iPod....great compliment to Apple for whom they have a great marketing success. Thumbright

Personally, I don't own an iPod and have no desire to own one. I don't have a dedicated MP3 player altho' I do have a Sony mobile phone with built in MP3. The only time I use this is when working away and stuck in a hotel room or when on my bike, if biking on my own.

The latter, I do actually think is dangerous as it blocks out sounds that you need to be listening to - remember Stop, Look and LISTEN when we're crossing roads! So many people I see just walking across juntions without even a glance let alone being able to hear vehicles 'cos they're too busy plugged into their music device.

No IPod, but a PSP that I use for music games and video.

I only really use it on long haul flights. I would have gone honey nut loopy with out it for the last couple of years.

As for music on the move - I'm cool with that if it floats your boat - I just think the whole IPod phenomenon has gotten out of hand. There are plenty of capable MP3 players out there, but the IPod seems to be the ONE...

Crossing streets with ear phones in - fair game for motorists

i suggest any idiot slagging something off because it doesnt suit them is not just a retard but an ignorant one at that.
off course my life doesnt revolve around it. dont even have headphones, but i am a big music lover that can take all his albums and photos wherever i go.
I see what you mean now, Fuc$ing stupid isnt it? Rolling Eyes

Hey, I enjoy music and don't own an IPod for 2 reasons

Why do people see the Ipod as an answer to a problem that has dogged man kind for years? It's Bull! The Ipod, and people attitudes towards it, is a marketing classic! Invent the device and then create the market. Genius! Most people with and Ipod believe they can't live without it. THEY'RE the Retards!

this sounds like a moneysaving expert retard rant

No it's a "I have to put up with ipod idiots paying not attention to what the hell is going on around them, pushing, being rude, knocking over old ladies they didn't even see, ignoring commuter gits" rant.

Handyman, It not to do with saving money, its to do with not having the money in the first place. (I Like ranting!)
Owen, I've a feeling I will be soon.

moon i think your main arguments need to be reviewed. its a rant at society in general i think. i have an ipod, i dont wear headphones. i dont push and be rude. i love listening to my music at work, i Fuc$ing hate wankstain fm radio, i like having all my work pictures to hand, i like seeing my kids pics whilst having a cup of tea
i think you are guilty of mass generalision.
you dont have to listen to me if you want. you seem to have your ears blocked by your bum cheeks.
oh, and you talk of inventing the product then the market. what the f*ck is the internet? Rolling Eyes

Ok you got me on the Mass Generalisation, I admit. And I humbly apoligise.
My ears ain't blocked. It's not the Ipod itself I hate, it's the way a lot of people (Not everyone, I humbly accept) treats the Ipod and the world around them when they are using them. I think you right about the rant at sociity in general. Not all the IPodder on the Tube push and shove, and not al the pushers and shovers have Ipods.

A TV program I saw a bit of last night summed up UK society pretty well. Most people think of themselves first, before others. I think we all suffer a bit of that.

The internet is a abstraction that grew and expandend over 40 years. It ain't new, and not recent. It's only come the public attention in the last 15 years or so, and only had a marketing engine behind it the last 10 years.

Now it's a vast computer network linking smaller computer networks worldwide. The Internet includes commercial, educational, governmental, and other networks, all of which use the same set of communications protocols.
