I have 2 and a bit walls to render internally. I have fixed some 12.5mm plasterboard offcuts as a ruling off guide. All backboxes have been countersunk the same.

There is no immediate hurry to plaster after as have other things to do first.

I will probably get someone in to get this on, so the big factor is time.

It will be on thermalite blocks which i have done before.

But at a rough 12.5mm to 15mm render should i go for just the one coat. (reason being it will be based on day rates.) Have done 2 coats previously.

Or go for hardwall as this can be done in a day?

I wouldnt one coat, I would just do it in two coats of render.

If you haven't got the cash, have it hardwall'd. But you can't beat rendered walls.

Thanks, i have the sand, no cash. The guy wants to hardwall it then skim it over two days.

It will be price dependant.
