DVLA decided it shouldn't be on the road because they couldn't find proof of the VIC test. i went back to the garage and asked for a copy, which i got. i sent that off too. they then said my m8 was the registered owner of the vehicle and they couldn't accept it with my name on and wanted it checking again to make sure it wasn't 2 cars welded together.

Talk about money for nothing, thats a typical example of rip off Britain

My dad had a car written off once as "uneconomical to repair" The insurance offered him £600 in the first instance. which was refused. They then upped the offer to £750. My dad phoned them and said he'd accept this, as long as he could dispose of the car. They accepted this and my dad broke the car for spares (advertised in the local rags) Made about £500 altogether just selling parts off it . Engine was in excellent condition. Steering rack, some suspension bits and loads of minor things. Surprising what people want off a car, window winder handles, bits of trim, windscreen wiper motor, brake parts etc. The shell was carted away by a local scrap merchant.
