Hi,

I've been reading a bit about multi layer insulating foil for loft insulation. It seems there's some controversy over whether it actually works as advertised. Does anyone on here have it installed in their loft and if so, how is it? Also, any other info would be interesting.

Thanks.

Other interesting info: A loft aerial won't work.

Personal experience was that it was expensive rubbish but... it may depend on the type of roof you're installing it in... ours was old farmhouse/barn conversion done in two stages.

First half of the roof we used it, having to fit it around/in between old and uneven purlins, then plasterboarding. Second half done two years later done with glass fibre, then plasterboarding.

First half of the property was hotter in summer and colder in winter than the other half. Like I say, it may depend on the type of roof you're insulating.

They must, I assume, give figures for the efficiency? - how do they compare with 'standard' forms of insulation? Simple number comparison of you ask me.
