Hi I've got old wooden planked floors with plenty of draughty gaps. Because it didn't look good I tried silicone sealing them from underneath but it must have all dropped out because the gaps are back again. Is it a good idea to fix loft insulation to the underside of the joists? Thanks Alan

I'm going to do the same thing when I finally get round to it. Got the loft insulation stuff and some treated 1x1 timber batts.
Parents done the same thing and it made a massive difference.
If you are carpeting it, just get yourself a mega underlay (like cloud 9 or something) and a your carpet will be super expensive feeling and the drafts will go away.
Cheers,
BG
