 Post subject: IBM R50e screen problem

I've got a 2" white overlay appeared on my screen, system restore didn't help, any ideas?

Where is it, on the side or top or bottom? If side, which side?
If down the side, have you moved a speaker with a strong magnet near that side of the screen?

No magnets involved, dead straight line 2" across top to bottom on the left side, not altering with resolution, there from switch on. Ba*@ard.!

Does the Thinkpad have a video outlet socket? If so, try a monitor and see if the line appears, if it does then it looks like it could be the video card. If the line does not appear, then it is your screen or wiring to it.
