Hi all,

I've always been more of a watering can kind of guy, but decided recently to treat myself to one of these:

http://www.hozelock.com/watering/hose-r ... -2412.html

The instructions were worse than useless, so I watched the handy youtube video (see above link) and got it all connected up. Great! But then I realised that I did not know how to connect it all to the tap!!!! Neither the instructions nor the video show how to get it connected to the tap. I'm sure it is obvious, but never having had a hose I'm just not sure what to do.

If anyone could help that would be great.

Just to add: I do have an outside tap and it already has the correct connector fitted. All I need to know is what happens between the tap and the reel.

Many thanks

Max

you should have one of these on the tap

And one of these on the hose that connects (or similar)

The second pic you pull the plastic bit back in the direction of the arrow, push onto the tap fitting, release, it'll click into place.

Thanks for the reply. I know how those connections work......

But.....

Now that the hose reel is assembled, we are left with one end which is free for attaching the spray gun, etc. The other end is connected and screwed to a fitting on the central spindle of the reel drum.

My question is how to get water to that.

Cheers

Max

You need to have another section of hose pipe with the fittings that WINE-O showed above. On the side of the reel stand there is a spigot sticking out which you fix this tap to reel hose with.

ahhh that makes the question a little clearer....
You need 2 more of those connectors and a length of hose to connect the reel to the tap - about 2 meters long?
A piece cut off your old hose will do if you have one otherwise its cut a piece off your new hose if it will still be long enough afterwards?
