some people say

' i want my children to have a better life than i have' on the TV a lot.

Whats wrong with your life, that you need your children to 'do better' than you.

It was said again on eastenders this week Embarassed ............does that say it all Laughing

I think what it really means is 'I want my kids to do well so I don't have to worry about them'. I would think all parents worry about the future for their kids and would not want them to have to experience some aspect of their own lives that they have had to deal with.

The simple fact is that all you can do is to prepare your children the best you can to be decent human beings who value and preserve the things that matter in life. If you are a t*at then it is most unlikely that your kid is going to be anything more in life as you haven not learned life's lessons yourself to pass on. So hoping that the kid does better in this instance is really an admittance that you did not do so well yourself.
