I have a downstairs cloakroom and recently for no apparent reason I've had a loud humming noise (not banging or hamering, but definitely some sort of resonance) every time I flush the toilet. Turning on the cold tap can stop it, but sometimes I have to turn it wide open and slowly ease it back off until it's closed again to prevent the noise persisting.

There does not seem to be an obvious change to explain the onset of this problem. A little while back I replaced the cold tap valve internals to stop the tap dripping, but this did not seem to coincide with the start of the problem.

Any suggestions welcome.

Typical plastic ball valve syndrome. :thumbright:

Change or service the valve.
