I am struggling with a small drip under our kitchen sink. I caused movement by fixing another drip that developed by the plug hole joint and now I have weep past a pushfit elbow further down. I bought a new one from Screwfix but typically it is just too small to fit the pipe. As there is no way of telling the make or type how can I find a part without a lengthy trial and error? I have a solvent fitting that will slip on and the bore on this indicates the pipe measures 45mm or an 1" 3/4. It does not have to be pushfit but being an old pipe I do not want to try solvent.

Any advice appreciated.

I sorted it, I used one of these https://www.screwfix.com/p/mcalpine-mt4 ... 40mm/45446

I had a bit of spare waste pipe which is Marley and it was the same diameter as the existing waste. Screwfix were good and exchanged the other fitting and allowed me to test on my spare pipe if the McAlpine one was right, it fitted perectly, the Flopast I got was just too small.

Posted just in case it helps someone else.
