My neighbour has a jack russell and when they leave the house empty the dog barks continiously,if they go out for 1 hr it will bark for 1 hr if they go out for 8hrs it will bark for 8hrs if they gofot a night out i have heard the dog barking till the early hours.I have told the neighbour about it as has the neighbour on the other side of him but he doesn,t seem to take it seriously, he says he knows it barks when they leave but thinks it settles down after a few minutes, the reason he doesn,t hear it still barking when they return is the dog hears them coming and stops.I think the dog is distressed when left alone and wonder if barking for such long periods is harming the dog,it happens on a daily basis for at least stage. The dog is well looked after and not mistreated in any way but i think this must be harming the dog ?

Invite them round your house for an evening for a few drinks. Don't worry you won't have to spend all night with them as they will soon realise the dog has seperation anxiety

lol I am wondering if the dog still keeps barking:) give us some news:-) My opinion is,the smaller dog, the louder it is. I hate small dogs. I have a golden retriever, he never barks, if so, then with some good reason.
