Aldi is selling some tomorrow, never used them, no idea what you do with them. How important are they and do you really need so many?

They are widely used as seals in valves, pumps, couplings, and where an air/water/gas tight seal is needed. There is a huge variety of sizes available in a number of different materials. You probably don't need to buy that many even if you are a mechanic, just get a few as and when you need them.

Mixer taps have a couple in.
The only reason them kits are handy is beceause they have so many different sizes in.
More of a get you out of trouble kit.

That's what my oh just told me! So if I asked you a technical cooking question you'd know the answer Handyman! I've never used an O ring, never seen anyone use one, so thought I'd ask!

The only problem with assortments that I've found is after twenty years, you have run out half of the selection, so you have to get more as you need them. Watch battery ass'ts are the worst, use up the LR44s but not most of the others. Then when you CAN use one, it's dud.

It's the equivalent of an olive but in rubber/plastic.
