You have a short window of time to make changes after you posted. If you make the change before a reply has been made nothing will show that you have changed your post but after a reply has been made your post will show an 'edited' message.

I am sure a Mod will pick this up shortly

As the others have said there is only a short time after posting to edit your post.
Also you can't send or receive messages until you have made 10 posts.

You can either ask in the thread concerned for a mod to change a post for you.
Or just post any additional information yourself in the same thread.

I guess that on reflection the OP does not want his personal circumstances shown in the thread for ever. I am thinking that he probably wrote that in an emotional moment and things may have calmed down now. Perhaps a kindly Mod could strip that bit out for him? :thumbright:
